Mercedes-Benz 2011 SLK Photos Leaked

Hey New York Luxury Car buyers, a French promotional ad leaked early footage and photos of the 2011 Mercedes-benz SLK, as seen below.

This next-gen SLK is reported to weigh approximately 200 pounds less while adding some space to the trunk and increasing capacity to 11.2 cubic feet.  This is a great feature and will work well for weekend getaways and excursions to the golf course.

Apart from the general proportion changes, there’s much left to be revealed.  The LED daytime running lights, common to all of Mercedes-Benz most recent models, are obvious. The general proportions of the car with the top up seem to reflect a longer hood and possibly more rearward seating position.

It appears that Mercedes decided to shed the controversial front end of some of the current models for something new, although the star logo is prominent, front and center.  Additional details seen in the leaked video that has since been removed showcased the SLK with what appeared to be the Mercedes’ seven-speed G-tronic automatic transmission, which is a a dynamic handling package with adaptive suspension and start/stop functionality on all engines.

The 2011 Mercedes next-gen SLK is expected to make its debut in late 2010, so an official 2011 release date and schedule may be imminent.   At this point, pricing is rumored to be close to the current model around the $46,000 mark.
